Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Government created a new record by administering Covid – 19 to 12.56 lakhs people in a day. The Government took a special drive on Covid – 19 vaccine drive on Sunday from 6am to 6pm.

The AP also crossed one-crore mark of Covid – 19 vaccines administration of the first dose. The State Government’s official Covid – 19 response team Aarogya Andhra in a tweet said 11.85 lakh of Covid – 19 vaccines administered by 5 pm. On the direction of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy the State Health Department conducted special vaccination drive. Previously, the State created a record by administering over 6 lakh vaccines in a day.

The credit goes to the network of volunteers and healthcare providers who made this possible, with the understanding that vaccination is the only way to stop Covid – 19, said officials. The vaccination drive on people over 45 years and mothers with children under five years began at 6 am in more than 2,000 locations in all 13 districts of the State.
