Vishakhapatnam: The ACB arrested former AP Minister Atchannaidu, and five others in the Rs. 150 Cr ESI scam on Friday, said ACB Joint Director Ravi Kumar. ESI former Director Ramesh Kumar, Dr. Vijay Kumar, Ravi Babu and Chakravarthy arrested in the ESI case. Speaking to the media persons on Friday he said that Atchannaidu was arrested at 07:30am at his residence at Nimmada village of Srikakulam District.

Dr. Vijay Kumar at Rajahmundry, ESI former Director Ramesh Kumar at Tirupati arrested and brought them to Vijayawada. The six arrested persons were produce before the ACB court at Vijayawada today evening. The above said accuseds are involved in the AP ESI scam worth of Rs. 150 Cr in the state between 2014 to 2019.

They purchased the medicines, biometric machines, surgical items and other health items on high rates and committed corruption a worth of Rs. 150 Cr, he said. After thorough enquiry of the vigilance department, the government handed over the case to ACB, he said. After thorough enquiry on the scam the ACB slethes came to an opinion and filed cases against the above said persons, said ACB Joint Director Ravi Kumar.
