New Delhi: Congress party sent a copy of the Constitution to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday on the occasion of the 71st Republic Day. The Congress party took a dig at Modi saying when you get time off from dividing the country, please do read it.
The Congress party posted several tweets on its official twitter alleging that the Government wants subverting the Constitution. The Congress also twitted the videos of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra reading the Preamble from a protest Assembly at Raj Ghat recently. The Congress in its tweet said that a lesson the BJP has failed to understand is that all persons no matter creed Caste or Gender are guaranteed equality before the Law under the Article 14 of the Constitution.
And also said the CAA is completely violating this Article. The Laws based on discriminating are un-constitutional, and the Article is enshrined in our Constitution that all persons are protected from discrimination of any form. Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi urged the people in a message on the eve of Republic Day on Saturday to rise above the personal prejudices and stand united to protect the Constitution and its values claiming that they are being attacked through a deep rooted conspiracy.
