Covid-19 “Fee Hike 70% on Liquor” in Delhi: Kejriwal

Hyderabad: After 40 days lock down, the Union Government eased strict conditions of lock down from May 4th in orange and green zones to bring back the normalcy in the life. The Union Government issued relaxations in orange and green zones for business and other professionals from May 4th.

The Government gave permissions to the states to open liquor shops also. The liquor consumers gathered in a large at all liquor shops on Monday, when the shops opened after 40 days. The fond of liquor fellows are not following the social distancing and Covid- 19 restrictions. The more state Governments are increased the MRP rates from 20% to 70%.

The Delhi Chief Minister Aravind Kejriwal on Monday hiked the MRP rates 70% from Monday. He also called it as a “Corona Fees”. He issued permissions to Delhi Government’s tourism department organizations to sale liquor with the hike of 70% in their respective customers. Delhi Chief Minister Aravind Kejriwal issued the hiked 70% prices in a Government order on Monday late night. Earlier in the morning, he convened a cabinet meeting and took the decision. The Government runs liquor shops also at the same hiked price carried, he added.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamatha Benerjee also hiked 30% of the MRP prices on liquor. The persons gathered in a large scale at the liquor shops, not following the Covid-19 restrictions. The AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also hiked 20% prices on MRP on liquor. Many shops were seen a big crowds without following the Covid-19 norms. Later the government stopped liquor sales for two hours and insisted umbrella model.
