Dharavathi Preethi a PG medical student succumbed at a hospital in Hyderabad

Hyderabad:  Dharavathi Preethi, a PG medical student succumbed at a hospital in Hyderabad on Sunday night who committed suicide attempt had allegedly taken some injection while on duty at MGM Hospital in Warangal on February 22nd.

Preethi, a first year student of the PG (MD) in the department of Anaesthesia, succumbed at NIMS, where she was admitted on February 22nd in a critical condition. All the efforts by the doctors at NIMS to save the girl proved futile. According to the NIMS Medical Superintendent, she succumbed at 9.10 p.m. He said despite continuous efforts by a multidisciplinary team of specialist doctors, she could not be saved.

Preethi’s family members, relatives and leaders of various political parties and people’s organizations began to protest at the hospital demanding justice. The body will be shifted to Gandhi Hospital for autopsy. Police have beefed up security around the hospital as a precautionary measure.

Telangana State Government assured the deceased the family members that the Government takes stringent action against the senior student Saif and the HOD and Principal of MGM College, Warangal. The Panchayat Raj Minister E. Dayakar said that the Government has announced Rs. 10 lakhs exgratia to the deceased Preethi’s family members and a Government job in Panchayat Raj department. And he personally announced an exgratia of Rs. 20 lakhs to the deceased family.
