Dr J Radha Krishnan Appointed as Special Nodal Officer for Covid-19 in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: Tamil Nadu government appointed senior IAS officer Dr J Radha Krishnan as the special nodal officer for greater Chennai Corporation on Friday, grapple with Covid-19 cases. Tamil Nadu stated recorded Covid-19 cases 2323 so far, Chennai city alone recorded  1082, adding with the new cases 176 on Friday.

In the government order, he will coordinate all Covid-19 related issues with Commissioner of Greater Chennai and other teams. Five IPS officers were appointed for assist him on Covid-19 i.e., Mahesh Kumar Agarwal (North Zone), Abash Kumar (East Zone), Amaresh Pujari (South Zone), Abhay Kumar Singh (West Zone) and K Bhavaneeswari (Suburbs). Chennai continues to witness a sharp rise in COVID-19 positive cases despite the nationwide lockdown and 16,000 workers conducting door-to-door screening every day.

After seven years as Health Secretary, he is presently the Commissioner of Revenue Administration, Disaster Management and Mitigation.
