Former AP Minister Akhila Priya Remanded for 14 days in a land dispute kidnap case

Hyderabad: Former AP Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya remanded for 14 days, and shifted her to Chanchalguda Central Jail on Wednesday. The Hyderabad police arrested her at her residence at Kukatpally on Wednesday in connection with a three member kidnap case.

The aides of Bhuma Akhila Priya tried to kidnap the former hockey player Praveen Rao and his two brothers Naveen Rao and Sunil Rao on Tuesday night from their residence. The kidnappers went in three cars to Praveen Rao’s house and posed as IT Officers and forcibly entered into the house.

They abducted the family members in different rooms and taken away the brothers. On receiving the complaint, Bowenpally police informed the higher officials and responded immediately. The police observed the CCTV footage and alerted the all check-post and all stations for kidnappers and arrested them at Ramgopalpet within three hours.

Later the kidnappers released the victims Praveen Rao and his brothers at outskirts of the city. The police booked a case against former AP Minister Akhila Priya and her husband Bhargav Ram, another TDP leader AV Subba Reddy and ten others. Akhila Priya and her members having a dispute of land issue at Hafizpet with Praveen Rao and his brothers caused to the kidnap, said the police.
