Hyderabadi’s stage ‘Million March’ protest against CAA and NRC

Hyderabad: The “million march” was called by JAC against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR).  Hundreds of thousands of people came on the streets of Hyderabad to condemn the amendment of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and implement of National Register of Citizens (NRC) nationwide on Saturday.

Senior citizens, lawyers, doctors, teachers, parents and childrens joined in ‘million march’ at Dharna Chowk on Saturday. The people who participated in the ‘million march’ parked their vehicles far away from the venue and walked with the Indian flags, banners and placards. Protesters marched in group raising anti-slogans against CAA and NRC in Hyderabadi style. Anti-slogans raised against CAA and NRC such like “Hindustan Hamara Hai, Kisi Ko Hak Nahi Hum Ko Kahe Chhodne Ke liye, Hum ko Chayie Azadi, Ye Hak Hamara Azadi, Ambedkar Wali Azadi (no one has the right to tell us to leave the country, we want the freedom given in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s Constitution)”. Big banners written with “Born in India, will die in India” and “Will not fill papers for NPR and NRC” were seen.

Dr. Yunus Parvez, a dentist stood with his team holding a poster reading “Two months ago it was Kashmir, month ago it was Assam, a week ago it was Delhi, Jab Apna Ghar Jalega, Tab Kya Jagega? The agitation will continue until the Union Government revokes the amendments carried out to the Citizenship Act and drops the idea to carry out the NRC exercise, said JAC Convenor Mushtaq Malik. The venue Dharna Chowk was full by 2.30 pm.
