Dubai: Australia won their 1st ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on Sunday at Dubai International Stadium beating New Zealand in the final. Australia waited for 14 long years to win their maiden ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Australia won the toss and decided to bowl first in the ICC Men’s T20 final held at Dubai International Stadium. New Zealand scored 172/4 in their 20 overs. Captain Kane Williamson with the top scorer for New Zealand scored 85 off 48 balls (10*4s, 3*6s), Josh Hazelwood took three wickets in four overs conceding 16 runs with his economical bowling to restrict New Zealand for 172/4.

Australia chased 173/2 in 18.5 overs to win their maiden ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Mitchell Marsh unbeaten scored 77 in 50 balls (6*4s, 4*6s) and supported by David Warner scoring 53 runs off 38 balls (4*4s, 3*6s). New Zealand’s Trent Boult took two wickets in his four overs conceding 18 runs with economical bowling.
