India No. 11 Among Covid-19 Hit Nations

New Delhi: India stood at the 11th place in Covid-19 infections among countries with the highest number of reported cases on Friday. It exceeds the china’s Covid-19 official count, as new infections from across the country remain higher than 3,500 cases for sixth consecutive day.

India recorded the highest number of cases so far 85,786, on Friday the country recorded 3,787 new cases across the country. China, from where the virus originated, has officially reported 84,031 cases. The day’s death toll was 105 back in three digits after dropping to 99 on Thursday. Maharashtra recorded 1,576 new cases and Tamil Nadu 434, Delhi 425, Gujarat 340 and Rajasthan 213 respectively.

Meanwhile Tamil Nadu Covid-19 count topped the 10,000 mark on Friday with 434 new cases, 309 of them only in Chennai city. The state’s death toll rose to 71 with five more fatality. The state’s total cases have jumped from 8,000 to cross 10,108 in just four days. Chennai has more than half the cases in the state, 5,946 cases as of Friday. In Delhi new cases registered 425 on Friday, taking the total tally to 8,895. In Rajasthan new cases hit another high of 213, the third in as many days. Jaipur and Madhya Pradesh also registered 23 cases from each, too continue to registered a high number of cases.

In Odisha and Jharkhand states Covid-19 cases are increasing due to the returning of migrant workers. Odisha 48 cases and Jharkhand 12 new cases registered on Friday.
