Melbourne: India won its first match in T20 World Cup 2022, against their arch rival Pakistan at Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday. India won a thriller last ball victory by four wickets against Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2022.

India won the toss and chooses to field first and invited Pakistan to bat first. Pakistan in their innings scored 159/8 in 20 overs. In Pakistan innings Shan Masood scored unbeaten 52 runs in 42 balls and Iftikhar Ahmed scored 51 runs from 34 balls. These two batsman helped Pakistan to reach a respectable score to defend the match against India in their 20 overs.

In reply to Pakistan set target 160 runs, India loses their openers within 20 runs when Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya steadied the innings in the middle overs. India scored 40 odd runs in their first ten overs. After that Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya took attack against Pakistan bowlers and put pressure on them. Especially Virat Kohli is more aggressive against Pakistan bowlers than Hardik Pandya.

Virat Kohli remained unbeaten in this run chase and helped India to achieve a nail biting victory against Pakistan. Virat Kohli scored unbeaten 82 runs in 53 balls and Hardik Pandya scored 40 runs in 37 balls.
