DRI Sleuths Seized Gold of Rs. 1.84 Cr: Three Arrested

Hyderabad: Directorate of Revenue Intelligence officers arrested three persons including one Airline staff and seized worth of Rs. 1.84 crore gold on Friday at Shamshabad Airport.

       The DRI officers were stopped the Airline officer, who was leaving with two packets at the exit gate at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, along with two other personnels. The officials suspiciously open the two packets and fought 42 bars of gold worth of Rs. 1.84 crores.

        The air customer care officer of Indigo stated that two passengers who had landed in an aircraft from Dubai handed him the package. He also told to the DRI officers that two passengers had travelled in emirates flight EK528 from Dubai. According to the DRI officials the foreign marked gold bars were found to be of 99.9% purity, with a weight of 4,821.200 grams.

        The DRI booked case under customs act 1962, the case is on investigation.
