Jagan announced exgratia Rs Five lakh to the people died due to Nivar cyclone

Tirupati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced an exgratia of Rs. Five lakhs each to the kin of eight persons, who died due to the heavy rains triggered by cyclone Nivar.

He conducted an aerial survey on Saturday to assess the damage caused by cyclonic storm Nivar in Chittoor, Kadapa and Nellore districts, even as the death toll has increased to eight. Six persons from Chittoor district and two persons from Kadapa district died in the rains.

CM directed officials to submit their detailed reports before December 15th. The officials were also instructed to speed up the process of handing over compensations to farmers and others affected before December 30th.

He also directed officials to make sure that power supply is restored as early as possible. The crop loss enumeration should be taken on war footing basis and compensation should be paid by December end. The CM said people in the relief camps should be given Rs. 500 each while returning home.

Services of volunteers should be utilized to handover the amount if they have already left relief camps. CM also instructed the officials to give seeds on 80% subsicidy to the farmers in the affected areas. A decision to this effect was taken in the cabinet meeting on Friday.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to act on humanitarian grounds in dealing with the peoples in affected areas and compensate other damages like houses and livestock as per SDRF norms. He also told to the officials to complete the temporary restoration works of Pincha and Annamayya projects immediately.
