Joe Biden owes to America from Trump’s ‘Season of darkness to light’

Washington: Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden pledging to lead America from darkness to light, formally accepted the party nomination at the end a four day virtual convention on Thursday, setting the stage for one of the most consequential elections in US history.

“The current President Trump has cloaked America in darkness for much too long. Too much anger, too much fear, too much division”, Joe Biden said without once directly taking his incumbent his rivals name in a 25 minutes address. “I give you my word: If you entrust with the Presidency, I will draw on the best of us, not the worst. I’ll be an ally of the light, not the darkness.  And make no mistake united we can and will overcome this season of darkness in America”.

The speech not only drew down the curtain on an unprecented digital convention, but also ended a fractious fight for the nomination, bringing the Democratic Party behind the challenger at the acme of his political career with his third shot at the White House. In a speech that was broadly praised, even by Fox news and rated by political pundits as his best ever considering he is prone to gaffes, Biden also warned that “US will not turn a blind eye to Russian bounties on heads of American soldiers, nor will I put up foreign interference in our most sacred Democratic exercise, voting”.

The remarks came even as President Trump continued to cast aspersions on the election process, addressing a rally near Scrantal, Pennsylvania, which is Biden birthplace. In 47 years Joe did none of the things of which he now speaks. He will never change, just words, Trump tweeted.
