Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated Akasa airlines first flight from Mumbai-Ahmedabad

New Delhi: Akasa Airlines first flight took off between the Mumbai-Ahmedabad routes on Sunday. Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated the first flight in Mumbai by waving flag along with MoS General Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd.)

The maiden flight took off from Mumbai at 10:05 am with a scheduled arrival at Ahmadabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 11:25 am. Akasa Air is offering weekly flights between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

Akasa will compete against other budget airlines such as market leader IndiGo, Spice Jet and Go First. It will also face competition from the revamped Air India and Tata Group’s two other airlines Vistara and AirAsia India.

Akasa Air airline code is QP opened ticket bookings for its first commercial flights on July 22nd with an initial network in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kochi. Akasa airlines will start operating from August 13th an additional 28 weekly flights between Bengaluru and Kochi.
