Medical Superintendent suspended; doctor’s license cancelled: Harish Rao

Hyderabad: Telangana Health Minister Harish Rao announced that the Government suspended Medical Superintendent and the doctor’s license, who conducted the Tubectomy operations and caused to the death of four women at Civil Hospital in Ibrahimpatnam on August 25th.

The Minister visited the NIMS in Hyderabad and interacted with women, who are undergoing treatment for various complications arose out of family planning surgeries. Minister speaking to the media on Wednesday said that health condition of 17 women admitted to NIMS and 13 in Apollo Hospitals is safe. Some of them will be discharged on Wednesday and remaining on Thursday.

Terming death of four women because of botched Tubectomy as unfortunate, he said.
12 lakh family planning surgeries were performed in the last seven years, but not a single incident of sterilization death was reported, he said. An expert committee headed by Director of Health will be constituted so that such incidents are not repeated.
