Modi postponed his Belgium tour

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi postponed his visit to Belgium due to the outbreak of the Corona Virus throughout the world. Modi postponed his tour to participate in the India-European Union Summit, an annual event aimed at expanding the strategic partnership.

According to the Foreign Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar the both countries health authorities suggested the travelling must not take place at present. So it has been decided to reschedule the summit on a mutually convenient date. Modi has already decided not to participate in any celebratory events for Holi this year in view of the outbreak.

In his tweet Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the experts across the world have advised to reduce mass gatherings to avoid the spread of Covid-19 Novel Corona virus. Hence, this year I have decided not to participate in any Holi Milan programme. In Europe, Italy has proved the biggest hub of the disease so far. Several Indians who tested positive for the virus had contracted it while visiting Italy as tourists. In India 30 cases of Covid-19 have been detected in the country so far, said Foreign Ministry spokesperson.
