New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a week long campaign on Saturday to free India of garbage and filth ahead of the Independence Day and stressed how Swatchh Bharat Abhiyan has proved to be a big support in fight against Covid- 19.

Inaugurating the Rashtriya Swatchhata Kendra at Gandhi Smriti at Raj Ghat on the anniversary of Quit India Movement, Modi urged all districts to intensify the “Gandgimukt Bharat” drive for the next one week. He also said there has been a drive shun everything that weakens India in the last six years and there is a need to intensify the drive to get rid of poverty, open defecation, single use plastics, discrimination, corruption, terrorism and violence.
