23 Died in a Fire Crackers Factory’s Blast

Chandigarh: Nearly 23 people died and 27 injured in a fire cracker factory’s explosion in Gurudaspur dist of Punjab on Wednesday. The death’s may rise in the explosion many more laborers buried under the debris of the building located in a residential area Valmiki Ashram near Hansli nala on Jalandhar road in Bhatala.

        According to the IG SPS Parmar said that the blast occurred around 04:00pm at the factory. The massive explosion turned nearly buildings in to rubble. Several cars parked nearby were also damaged in the blast. The neighbours of the factory complained the authorities in the past. The factory is illegal but the authorities failed to take any action.

      Punjab Chief Minister has ordered a magisterial enquiry into the incident. Bhatala ACD has been asked to conduct the enquiry into the blast.
