AP Government announced exgratia ₹ five lakh to the raped victim

Guntur: AP Government announced ₹ five lakh exgratia and another ₹ 50K from Women and Child Welfare Department to the raped victim, said Home Minister M Sucharita. She along with the Women and Child Welfare Minister T Vanitha visited the victim at Guntur GGH on Monday and said that the Government will take stringent action against the culprits.

Andhra Pradesh Women’s Commission Chairperson Vasireddy Padma condemned the sexual assault and assured the victim’s family that severe action will be taken against the accused. Padma directed the police to speed up the investigation and nab the culprits at the earliest.

The Guntur police formed four teams to arrest the culprits, she said. According to the police sources a young woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by two miscreants after tying down her fiancé on Saturday night, when the couple went to Pushkar Ghat at Seethanagaram.

The police are suspecting the role of notorious ‘blade batch’ members in the sexual assault. According to Tadepalli police, the victim is working as a nurse in private hospital in Vijayawada, belongs to Rajarajeswaripet.

After completing her duty, she along with her fiancé went to Pushkar Ghat around 9 pm. The victims complained to with Tadepalli police station and the woman was shifted to the Government General Hospital in Guntur for treatment.
