B.S. Yediyurappa sworn-in as Chief Minister of Karnataka

Bengaluru: Karnataka BJP Chief B.S. Yediyurappa sworn-in as Chief Minister of Karnataka on Friday at Raj Bhavan. Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Wala administered the oath. After general elections of Karnataka in 2018, B.S. Yediyurappa takes oath second time as Chief Minister of Karnataka within 14 months.

   B.S. Yediyurappa alone sworn-in as Chief Minister on Friday, he has to prove his majority in the Assembly on or before July 31st. Yediyurappa confidently said that he will prove his majority in the Assembly at 10.00 am on Monday. Now Yediyurappa having support of 106 BJP MLAs, he is having short of six MLAs for majority. After proving the majority he will induct Ministers in his cabinet.

   The Karnataka Assembly is having 221 MLAs in the house, Karnataka Assembly Speaker Ramesh Kumar disqualified three rebel MLAs on Thursday. Now the Strength in the Assembly is 106, Congress & JDS coalition 100, resignated MLAs 13 and two independent MLAs. Karnataka former Chief Minister H.D. Kumara Swamy’s Congress & JDS coalition Government ended on 23rd July, not having majority in the house.
