Ban on sale and manufacturing on plastic: KCR

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandra Sekhar Rao on Thursday at Pragathi Bhavan announced that the Government has decided to ban manufacture and sale of plastic. He said that plastic is harming the environment and even putting the very existence of life in danger.  

   KCR instructed the officials to prepare guidelines for imposing ban on use and manufacturing of plastic products in the state and place it before the State Government. While reviewing the implementation of 30 days action plan which was taken up to make villages clean and green with the District Collectors and Panchayat Raj officers along with senior officers and Ministers, made it clear that the State Government was committed to release Rs. 339 crores every month to Gram Panchayats in the state. He said that each Collector will be give Rs. 2 crore funds to spend the amount for taking up emergency works for the village development and sanitation works. KCR asked the Collectors to give special focus where there is less forestry while spending Rs. 2 crores as per their discretion.

 KCR constituted a three member committee with senior IAS officers Somesh Kumar, Raghunandan Rao and Ajay Mishra to monitor the three phase power should be available to power supply activities in the Villages, Thandas, Tribal areas and Gudems. The District Panchayat Raj officers should take the main responsibility of utilizing the funds which are released monthly properly and bring in the required change in the villages, he said.
