Modi and Xi Jinping discussed on terrorism and radicalism

Mamallapuram: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on their second informal summit of the two nations met at Mamallapuram on Thursday. The two leaders resolved to work together to not let terrorism and radicalism affect on the fabric of their “Multi-Cultural, Multi-Ethnic and Multi-Religious” societies.  

    On day one on their second informal summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping discussed on the menace of terrorism and radicalism as well as trade issues during five hours of one-on-one discussions. India’s stand on terrorism and radicalism, the discussion on terrorism are being seen as extremely significant, the terrorism and radicalism emanating from Pakistani soil and China’s concerns over radicalism in tin North-Western Xinjiang Province.

    Apart from delegation level talks on the entire gamut of bilateral ties, the two nation leaders are expected to have further one-on-one discussion on Saturday.

    Speaking to the reporters Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale said that the discussions were cordial and reflected the personal rapport between two leaders. Chinese President Xi Jinping conveyed that he was overwhelmed by the welcome he received at Chennai and Mamallapuram and the arrangements for the informal summit.
