Maharashtra CM Fadnavis resigned

Mumbai: BJLP leader Devendra Fadnavis resigned as Chief Minister of Maharashtra on Tuesday, just 79 hours into his new term. Devendra Fadnavis resigned for his post after the directions of Supreme Court for the floor test at 5 pm on Wednesday.

   The NCP leader Ajit Pawar, who sworn-in-as Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra was resigned at 1 pm on Tuesday, after consulting with Fadnavis, there is no majority to the ally of BJP and NCP. Ajit Pawar said that he is unable to pool up NCP MLAs with him as expected the number of 54. After the Supreme Court’s verdict and the resignation of Ajit Pawar the BJP fallen into minority with a number only 105 which is less than the magic figure of 145 to form a Government.

   With the consultations of BJP top leaders Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP National President Amit Shah, Fadnavis resigned for the post of Chief Minister at 4.30 pm. Before submitting his resignation Fadnavis in a press conference, alleged that their pre-poll ally Siva Sena cheated them. Their selfishness caused the breach of alliance and they go for alliance with the non-matching ideology parties to form a Government. We clearly know that we have no majority in the Assembly, the BJP will act as the main opposition in the Assembly, he added. The BJP never tried to split the other parties or for the horse trading to save the Government, Fadnavis said.             After the conclusion of the press conference, Fadnavis directly reached to Raj Bhavan and submitted his resignation to Governor.
