Manmohan Singh Unanimously Elected to Rajya Sabha

New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan on Monday. He was declared elected unanimously after the deadline for withdrawal of nominations for by poll ended @ 3:00pm today. The by poll was conducted due to the death of BJP Rajya Sabha member Madanlal Saini in Rajasthan assembly congress had 100 MLA’s, 12 Independent and 6 BSP MLA’s, this strength is enough to get the former Prime Minister to elect.

        Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot congraculated Manmohan Singh on his election. He said that Manmohan Singh’s election is a pride for the entire state. His vast knowledge and experience would benefit people of Rajasthan. Manmohan Singh was a member of Rajya Sabha from Assam Since 1991 until his term ended in June 2019.
