Modi offered prayers to Meenakshi Amman temple in Madurai

Madurai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the famous Meenakshi Amman temple on Thursday in Madurai with traditional dress code and offered prayers. He wore traditional “veshti” (dhoti), shirt and “angavastram” during his visit to the Madurai temple.

According to the Tamil Nadu BJP sources the temple priests received Prime Minister Modi with warm welcome and accorded “poorna kumbha” honour to him. Tamil Nadu BJP shared PM Modi’s election campaign photos.

He is scheduled to address public meetings in Madurai and Kanyakumari on April 2 in support of NDA candidates. The BJP is contesting in Tamil Nadu Assembly elections with the alliance of AIADMK, which was scheduled on April 6th. The Tamil Nadu Assembly is having 234 Assembly seats.

Former Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan is contesting from the Kanyakumari Lok Sabha constituency from BJP, which was vacated due to the death of Congress MP H Vasantha Kumar, who died of Covid-19, last year.
