SC will appoint a former Supreme Court Judge to probe the killings Disha’s case accused
New Delhi: Supreme Court indicated on Wednesday that a former Judge of the Supreme Court would enquire into the encounter killing of four suspected accused in the rape and murder of Disha.
Supreme Court Chief Justice S.A. Bobde said that we propose to appoint a former Judge of Supreme Court to enquire into the encounter and he will not sit in Hyderabad but in Delhi. The bench headed by Chief Justice S.A. Bobde comprising of Justice S. Abdul Nazeer and Justice Sanjeev Khanna. Seeking suggestion from the petitioner G.S. Mani and the Telangana Government on the name of former Judge to hold the probe, CJI Bobde said that he had contacted the former Supreme Court Judge Justice P.V. Reddy but he has declined.
Senior Counsel Mukhul Rohatgi appearing for Telangana Government told to the Court that the Government on the steps it has already taken before handing over the probe to former top Court Judge. The further hearing based on the suggested names of former Supreme Court Judges would take place on Thursday. The petitioners Mani and Pradeep Kumar Yadav are both advocates of the Supreme Court urged an independent probe either by a SIT, CBI, CID or a police team of other state into the alleged encounter killing of four suspected accused. They also urged in the PIL, to sought probe against the Cyberabad Police Commissioner Sajjanar.
