DRI Arrested Two Persons: Gold Bars, DRI, Seized,Seized 14 Kg Gold Bars

Hyderabad: Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials arrested two persons and seized 14 kg gold bars, worth of Rs. 5.46 crores at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad on Thursday.

         The arrested persons, one said to be a national of South Korea and the other is from China. On reliable information the DRI officials searched the area around seat No. 31A and 32A of the Air India Flight A1952, which arrived from Dubai in the early hours of Thursday.

         In the searches, the officials find seven long strips of gold tightly wrapped within a black adhesive tape and concealed inside hollow pipes under the seats. The two persons have smuggled the gold bars from Dubai before concealing them beneath their seats in the air crafts.

         There were 112 metals bars of 24carat gold having a purity of 99.5 percent and weighing of 14 kg. The case is under investigation.
