New Delhi: Former Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram alleged that the BJP Government abrogated the Article 370 of Jammu & Kashmir is only on the basis of major Muslim population in the state.

  If the majority Hindu people is there, is the Government scraps the Article 370 which confers autonomous to the state, he questioned. BJP Government is trying to suppress the Muslims in the state, he added.

 The Union Law Minister Ravi Shanker Prasad condemned the allegations of the former Home Minister Chidambaram on Monday. The Congress party is trying to get the sympathy of Muslims and they wants to make the issue as a religious. Many Congress leaders and MP’s supported the Government’s decision, he said. We rectified the historical wrong done by the Congress 70 years back, he said.
