Time to Good Bye for Single Use Plastic

Greater Noida: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that it is a time the world said good bye to single use plastic. India would put an end plastic use in the coming years.

         Prime Minister in his address at the high level segment of the 14th conference of parties to United Nations conventions to combat desertification, more than 200 delegates from the countries participated in the conference. Another form of land degradation, which if plastic not preventing would become impossible to rivers. These are the menace of plastic waste.

        Apart from having adverse health implications these is going to render land unproductive and not suitable for agriculture. His government has announced that the country put an end to single use plastic in the coming years, said Modi. He also believed that the time has come for even the world to said good bye to single use plastic, he added.

      He also announced that the country would raise its ambition of the total area to be restored from land degradation status from 21 million hectares to 26 million hectors at the end of 2030. He also said that the country will take a pride in using remote sensing and space technology from multiple applications including land restoration.

       He expressed happy that the country will help other friendly countries develop land restoration strategies through cost effective satellite and space technology, he said.
