Chandigarh: Punjab PCC Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu submitted resignation to the interim party Chief Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday for his post. Sidhu in a letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi said he will continue to serve the party. He had taken over as the Punjab PCC in July this year.

The collapse of a man’s character stems from the compromise corner, I can never compromise on Punjab’s future and the agenda for the welfare of Punjab, Sidhu wrote in his letter. Punjab Cabinet Minister Razia Sultana also quit hours later in solidarity with Navjot Sidhu. The resignations came just months before the Punjab election.
