Nearly four killed and more than 100 injured due to the derail of North East Express train

Buxar: Nearly four people were killed and more than 100 other passengers were injured on Wednesday due to the derail of North East Express train at Raghunathpur in Buxar district in Bihar.

According to official sources the incident took place close to Raghunathpur station around 9.35 pm. The train started from Anand Vihar Terminus in Delhi and to enroute to Kamakhya near Guwahati in Assam.

Union Minister Ashwini Kumar told to the media that the teams of the NDRF and SDRF have reached the incident site. He also said that the injured people will be taken to AIIMS, Patna.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said that he has spoken to the Disaster Management Department, Health Department, and the district officials of Buxar and Bhojpur to speed up the relief and rescue work.

Assam CMO sources said that they are closely monitoring the derailment incident of the train in Raghunathpur. They added that they are in touch with the district authorities in Buxar and other agencies.
