No communal angle lynching on sadhus: Uddhav

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that arrested three persons, who are accused in lynching three men in Palghar. He also said more than 100 people taken into custody after the horrific attack on Thursday night at a spot, at a distance of 125 Kms from Mumbai.

He also said that he has spoken to Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday and assured him that he would look into the case. He said that don’t make incident as communal, there is no communal angle involved. The villagers attacked on three men as a result of mistaken identity, they heard rumours about the presence of thieves in the area and they were culprits, he said. CM also said two policemen were suspended immediately.

Uddhav in a tweet said that he explained the incident to Amit Shah that there is no communal angle. He also said we must search for all those fanning passions on social media. They were trying to cross over the village, when they were stopped by the police on the border of Dadra Nagar Haveli. They had to return to Maharashtra and were trying to take another route when they got attacked, he said. Two of the men killed were sadhus; the third was the driver of the car they were travelling in.
