Washington: Mike Pence formally accepted the party nomination as President Trump’s running mate on Wednesday at the Republican National Convention. Mike Pence warning that the country won’t be safe under Joe Biden, who would be nothing morethan a Trojan horse for the radical left.

In an acceptance speech delivered against the backdrop of the historic fort Mc. Henry in Baltimore to invoke patriotic and nationalistic emotions, Pence seized on sporadic violence in few city blocks that have typically followed police shooting of black men to pledge “Law and Order on the streets of this country for every American of every race and creed and colour”. Pence also contested the view of many Democrats that America is systemically racist and that law enforcement in America has “An implicit bias against minorities”.

Biden’s doubling down on cutting funding for the country’s police, already heavily militarized, would lead to more violence in American cities, he warned, asserting that under President Trump. “We will always stand with those who stand on the thin blue line, and we are not going to defend the police, not now, not ever”. The remarks talking of a militarized America with law and order focus came even as violence and looting raged in Minneapolis and Wisconsin following the shooting out black men during incidents with the police.

Hours before Pence spoke, police arrested a young white nationalist vigilante named Kyle Rittenhouse, 17, in connection with a shooting that left dead. Rittenhouse has been pictured at a Trump rally in Lova. The virtual Republican convention is schedule to wrap up on Thursday with an acceptance speech by Trump to be delivered from the White House.
