Hyderabad: People celebrated “Vijaya Dashami” festival with a joy on Wednesday, on the auspicious day of Aashwayuja Dashami. The day was celebrated at a mark of the victory of Goddesses “Durga Maata” over the demon “Mahishasura”.

This festival performed as a symbol of the win of “Good over Evil”. The people also have a belief that if any new work or project or a house started on this day is complete with full victory.

People celebrate Dasara festival for 10 days i.e., the beginning of the Telugu calendar month “Aashwayuja Shuddha Padhyami” to the 10th day of Dashami. Goddesses Kanaka Durga fight with demon “Mahishasura” eight days severely and she killed the demon on eighth day is called “Durga Ashtami”.

The next day is called as “Maharnavami” which was performed the pooja to the weapons which she used to fight with the demon, and the 10th day is celebrated as “Vijaya Dashami”. These 10 days called as “Devi Navratri” Celebrations.
