Hyderabad: The State police under Customs Department can work together and achieve the goal of curbing crime said the DGP M. Mahender Reddy. He address on Monday during the International Customs Day celebrations in Hyderabad, he said that the Customs Department was playing a vital role in guarding the economic frontiers.

The police and customs have common goals and objectives where both the departments enforce several similar laws. These two departments can work together and achieve the fostering, sustainability for people, prosperity and the planet, he said. The Customs Department contributes to the 6% of the Country’s revenue, said the Hyderabad Principal Commissioner of Customs J.S. Chandrasekhar.

A great challenge for the Customs Department is to curb the illegal activities and our personal are performing the duties in a better way, he said.
