President Ram Nath Kovind Removed Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi

Chennai: The President of India Ram Nath Kovind issued removal orders to Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi from the state of Puducherry on Tuesday. The President issued orders to Telangana Governor Tamizhi-Sai to take additional charge as Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.

Kiran Bedi served as Lieutenant Governor since 2016. Now the state is going to Assembly polls within two months. The state Chief Minister Narayana Swamy complained against Kiran Bedi to president Ram Nath Kovind recently. The governor’s removal before the Puducherry general elections is a hot topic in the political circles.

The state government was fallen in minority stage on Tuesday, due to the resignation of four MLAs to the government. The Chief Minister Narayana Swamy claims that his government has having sufficient MLAs to run the government. The Puducherry CM said that the removal of Kiran Bedi is a victory of government and the people of Puducherry.
