Protesters, police clash in Hong Kong rally

Hong Kong: Thousands of Pro-Democracy marches thronged into the streets of the Hong Kong for a massive rally on New Year’s Day on Wednesday, looking to carry the momentum of their moment into 2020 as police and hardcore demonstrators faced off again.

Since seven months offenly violent incidents were taken place in Hong Kong, frequently clashes between the police and hardcore protesters. For these violent incidents the city battles its biggest political crisis in decades. The protesters starts a peaceful march on Wednesday, the violence erupted near the march as it snaked through the Wanchi district on the financial hub’s main island.

Riot police used pepper spray and tear gas, while hardcore protesters lobbed Molotov cocktails. The Civil Human Rights Front, the Umbrella group which organizes the march, had permission for the march from City Authorities. The Authorities gave permission to end it soon after the clashes began. The police have asked us to end rally, told organizers using mega phones. The riot police asked the protesters, please leave the scene right now calmly and slowly including in the Wanchi subway station. Black-clad masked protesters also gathered to setup makeshift barricades, while some businesses were vandalized in afternoon.
