Random Covid- 19 tests at Delhi airport, railway station

New Delhi: The Delhi Government declared random testing of Covid- 19 will be held across Delhi’s airports, railway and bus stations on Tuesday amid a surge in infections that is seen as the emergent second wave of the Covid- 19. The Delhi Government said safety measures for Covid- 19 should be rigorously observed in public places, especially in markets and malls.

The Delhi Government imposed ban on the public celebration of the coming Holi, Shab-e-Barat and Navratra festivals The Delhi government said random testing will also be held at crowded boarding points for private buses. The District Magistrates and senior police officers of all districts were ordered to strictly follow the instructions.

The Government directive said “Random testing of travellers coming from states where Covid- 19 infection is spreading very fast should be done”. The daily Covid surge in Delhi has crossed 1,101 new cases were reported on Tuesday. The last time daily cases were this high was on December 19, when the city logged 1,139 new cases. The number of active cases has crossed is 4,411. This is the highest number of total active cases since January 6, when 4,481 active cases were reported.

Public health experts are suspecting that the resurgence of the virus considered the emergent second wave of Covid- 19 in the country was triggered partially by mutant forms and also because of laxity in observing safety measures including the use of masks and social distancing.
