Russia’s Sputnik V, 3rd Vaccine For India, Arrives In Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine, the third one to be used in India after Covishield and Covaxin against Covid-19, arrived in Hyderabad on Saturday.

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, in a tweet, said that Hyderabad customs expedited the clearance of the Covid-19 vaccine imported from Russia. “Hyderabad Customs, @cgstcushyd facilitated expeditious clearance of #SputnikV Vaccine imported from Russia.”

1,50,000 doses of Sputnik V vaccine in Hyderabad. The vaccine will be available in a few weeks after it has gone through statutory clearances. The price will also be announced then,” said Deepak Sapra, CEO of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories. Dr Reddy’s has bagged the rights for distribution of the first 100 million doses in India, which was later enhanced to 125 million.

“First batch of #SputnikV vaccine arrives in Hyderabad, India! That’s the same day the country starts mass Covid-19 vaccination drive covering its entire adult population. Let’s jointly defeat this pandemic. Together we are stronger,” Sputnik V, the world’s first registered Covid-19 vaccine.
