Second trench package of Rs. 3.16 lakh crore for migrant workers and farmers: Nirmala
New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman announced second trench of relief measures on Thursday with a package of Rs. 3.16 lakh crore to the poor, migrant workers and farmers.
The allocations of the funds in the second trench of measures for these categories are given below.
- FREE FOOD GRAINS SUPPLY TO MIGRANT WORKERS:
- It benefitted eight migrant workers for two months
- ONE NATION ONE RATION CARD:
- Under this scheme 67 crore beneficiaries of 23 states covering 83% of PDS to be covered by national portability by August 2020, 100% coverage by March 2021.
- Interest subsidy loans to Mudra Shishu scheme
- Special credit facility scheme with Rs. 5K crore for street vendors to be launched within a month, it will help 50 lakh street vendors
- JOBS FOR TRIBALS:
- The Government planned an implement program of Rs. 6K crore to provide employment to the tribals under compensatory afforestration and planning authority
- AFFORDABLE RENTAL HOUSING:
- Under PM Awaas Yogana, the Government to launch to provide homes an affordable rents to migrant worker/ urban poor
- Government funded housing in cities to be converted into affordable rental housing complexes under PPP mode
- FARMERS:
- The Government will provide Rs. 30K crore additional emergency working capital funding through NABARD
- 2 Lakh crore concessional credit boost to 2.5 crore farmers through Kisan credit cards
- HOUSING FOR MIDDLE INCOME GROUP:
- Government to extend credit- linked subsidy scheme for middle income group (annual income Rs. 6- 18 lakhs) upto March 2021
- 5 lakh families to benefit, expected to lead to investment of over Rs. 70K crore in housing
