Tamil Nadu Minister Doraikkannu passes away Due to Covid-19+

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Agriculture Minister R. Doraikkannu passes away on Saturday 11:15pm in a private hospital undergoing treatment for Covid-19. He was admitted in a hospital on October 13, when he tested positive for Covid-19 and was kept on ventilator. His mortal remains are likely to be taken to his native place Raja Giri.

He was survived with wife Bhanumati, four daughters and two sons. Doraikkannu was elected three times as MLA from Papanasam constituency in Thanjavur district. He elected in 2006, 2011 and 2016 Assembly elections. He was inducted as minister for Agriculture and animal husbandry in May 2016. He was born on March 28, 1948 at Raja Giri in Tanjavur District.

He studied BA degree from Raja Serfoji Government College, and he worked in a co-operative society for a few years.
