TS told to trace 3297 returnees from China

Hyderabad: The Central Government has ordered to Telangana Government for a mandatory 28- day home quarantine for passengers returning from the Corona Virus affected China and other countries into Hyderabad.

Quarantine test should continue irrespective of whether they show any of the symptoms of the disease or not. Quarantine tests will be conducted on 3, 297 passengers who landed in Hyderabad since January 15th. The passengers will have to remain quarantined and avoid coming into direct contact from anyone outside of their homes for the specific period. The screening and quarantine tests for the passengers who are coming from China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore at the aerobridges, before allowing the passengers into the airport.

Dr. G. Srinivasa Rao, Director for Health Department said that with respect to home quarantines, local district medical and health officials have been instructed to implement a thrice- a –day monitoring of health of these passengers as well as that of their family members. The family members too have to remain quarantined for four, ‘every morning, afternoon and evening’. The health officials and staff is calling them on phones and checking on their health, including for any possible disease symptoms, he added.
