
Union Home Ministry revised agenda on the pending issues between AP and Telangana
Vijayawada: Union Home Ministry released revised agenda of the meeting to resolve the bilateral issues between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will be held on February 17th. Union Home Ministry on Saturday announced that the first meeting on the dispute resolution, a Sub-committee will be held on February to discuss the pending issues between the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Union Home Ministry issued another notice, revised the agenda on the pending issues between AP and Telangana. As per the revised agenda, the meeting will discuss on division of Andhra Pradesh State Finance Corporation, payment of power dues to APGENCO by TSDISCOM, division of cash balance and bank deposits and cash credit by APSCSCL and TSCSCL.
According to the notice issued on Saturday by the Union Home Ministry, the agenda of the meeting included special category status, division of Andhra Pradesh State Finance Corporation, settlement of power utilities of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, removal of anomaly in taxation matters, division of cash balance and bank deposits, cash credit by APSCSCL and TSCSCL, resource gap, development grant for seven backward districts of Andhra Pradesh covering Rayalaseema and north coastal region, and tax incentives.
YSRCP has slammed the Centre over dropping of Special Category Status from the agenda of February 17th meeting to resolve the bilateral issues between AP and Telangana. YSRCP alleged that BJP does not want Andhra Pradesh to get Special Category Status which was in the AP State Re-organization Act – 2014, promised at the time of State bifurcation.
Information and Public Relations Ministry Perni Nani said BJP had promised Special Category Status to AP in its election manifesto in 2014. But, BJP betrayed people of Andhra Pradesh by going back on its promise. He said several states continued to enjoy the benefits of Special Category status.
