New Delhi: Tollywood Lady Super Star, Former Medak MP Vijaya Shanti is all set to join the BJP on Monday. She met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday evening in New Delhi and earlier she had met Minister of State of Home Kishan Reddy and Telangana BJP Chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar. She quit from Congress on Sunday.

Vijayashanti, began her political career with BJP, later in 2002 she formed a political party Talli Telangana in support to the Telangana agitation. Later she merged her party with TRS to strengthen the Telangana agitation to get a separate state. She became the vice-president in TRS. After Bi-Furcation of the AP State, Vijaya Shanti quitted TRS with misunderstandings with KCR.

Later she joined Congress in 2014 before the formation of Telangana and she contested from Medak constituency as Congress candidate and loses the election. Her entry into BJP will likely give a huge boost to the party as the saffron party recently made huge gains in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections. Vijayashanti would be the second popular star in South to join the BJP after Kushboo quit Congress and embraced the saffron party.
