Visitors Had No Entry in the Zones of Durga Pooja: Calcutta High Court

Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court said on Monday that visitors had no entry in the zones of Durga Pooja Pandals. The High Court issued orders just three days before the biggest festival of Bengal. The Court in its order said that organizers only will be allowed inside the pandals, limiting the number to 25 for big pandals and 15 for the smaller ones in view of the Covid-19 outbreak.

All pandals will have to erect barricades at their entrance the distance is five meters for small pandals and ten meters for the big pandals said the court. The High Court underscoring the need for compliance in view of public health, there are not enough policemen in Kolkata to maintain crowds at the city’s 3000 plus pandals. Chief Minister Mamatha Benarjee also announced to put Covid-19 in Lockdown and hold the pooja this year, said in September.
