New Delhi: Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde sworn-in-as the 47^th Chief Justice of India on Monday. President Ramnath Kovind administered the oath of office at Rashtra Pathi Bhavans Darbar Hall. Justice Bobde (63) will serve the 47^th Chief Justice of India till April 23^rd 2020-21- a tenure of over 17 months.

        Soon after taking the oath he sought the blessings of his mother by touching her feet. She was brought to the president house on a stretcher. Several former chief justices of the Supreme Court including RM Lodha, TS Takur and JS Kehar attended the ceremony.

       Former CJI Gogoi walked up to the Union Ministers and leaders at the gathering and shook hands with them.
