Mumbai: Maharashtra Assembly is going to elect speaker on Sunday. The senior Congress MLA Nana Patole filed his nomination on Saturday for the speaker’s post as the joint candidate of Maha Vikas Agadi.

       The BJP also field its candidate Kisan Kathore for the post of Speaker in Maharashtra Assembly. As per the available members in the Maharashtra Assembly, BJP is having only 105 members. The Siva Sena, NCP and Congress led Maha Vikas Agadi  have the support of 169 members in the assembly.      It was proved on Saturday, at the vote for confidence to the Maha Vikas Agadi govt led by Uddhav Thackeray. The Maha Vikas Agadi candidate Nana Patola’s voting for the speaker’s election will be held through a secret ballot. His election is likely to be a cake walk.
