Hyderabad: 14 agitators were taken into custody as a preventive when a group of youth came out of the Macca Masjid soon after Juma prayers protesting against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizen (NRC) in various places of the old city on Friday.

   Hundreds of youth gathered outside the Macca Masjid started raising slogans against Modi led Government, CAA and NRC and expressed their anguish.  

   Dr. Tarun Joshi, Joint Commissioner (Special Branch), Avinash Mohanty In-Charge DCP, South Zone and others had camped in the old city to monitor the situation. Apart from the Rapid Action Force, Task Force and Armed Reserve Police were also deployed around Charminar and near Macca Masjid.
