Guntur: Former Minister Ambati Rambabu arrested at 10.30 pm on Saturday after the six hours vandalization of his residence and office by the TDP activists and gundas.

The TDP gundas set fire to the office and residence of Rambabu in presence of the police, the vandalism also occurred in presence of the police. The police did not take any action against the TDP gundas. Police are not initiated any steps to prevent the attackers on Rambabu’s residence and office.

The dispute arises in the morning, when Rambabu is going to offer prayers to the Lord Venkateswara temple at Gorantla in Guntur Rural mandal. The TDP activists tried to attack Rambabu on his way with sticks and rods. The TDP activists exchanged heat words with Rambabu, later he reached his residence.

At that time Rambabu said “no one is afraid of these activities, if Chandrababu or any TDP leaders have guts to speak on Tirumala Laddu’s adulteration”. He won’t afraid of the “Red Book” and he is ready to get arrest also. Even his pet dog also not afraid of the illegal arrests.

Telugu Desam party activists and leaders attacked former Minister Ambati Rambabu’s residence and office on Saturday with rods, eggs, and sticks vandalized the cars, furniture etc.

Guntur West MLA Galla Madhavi and her husband Ramachandra Rao leads to the attack on Ambati Rambabu’s residence. They accompanied 2000 TDP activists and leaders towards Ambati Rambabu’s house.

MLA’s husband Ramachandra Rao and TDP leaders entered Rambabu’s house to attack him at 5 pm on Saturday. The TDP activists vandalized the furniture, window panes, almaras and other articles. They sieged Ambati’s residence and pelted stones, throws eggs.

They broke the car glass with sticks and pelted stones on the car in the premises of Ambati’s house. They broke the doors and windows of his house. The attackers tried to assassin Rambabu. This vandalism continued for nearly six hours.

The TDP Guntur President Pilli Manikyala Rao complained against Rambabu to Guntur SP. The police registered a case against Rambabu under BNS sections 126 (2), 132, 196 (1), 352, 351 (2), 292 r/w 3 (5). The police arrested him at 10.30 pm and brought him to Nallapadu police station.

After arrest of Rambabu the attackers set fire to the residence and office of Rambabu.

Ambati Rambabu’s wife Vijayalaxmi filed a house motion petition in the High Court of AP seeking protection to her family. She stated in her petition that the Guntur West MLA and her husband, followers created a horrible situation and frightened them for nearly six hours.
